COURTESY HERITAGE MUSEUMS & GARDENS - The carousel at Heritage Museums & Gardens will reopen to the public this weekend now that renovations to the building that houses the carousel are complete.

The carousel at Heritage Museums & Gardens is set to reopen on Friday, August 29.

Created in 1911 by carousel maker Charles I. D. Looff, the carousel was installed at Heritage in 1969. The building where the carousel is housed now contains several galleries in addition to the carousel, but it was originally built especially for the display of the carousel. The building has been closed for renovations since spring.

To celebrate the reopening of the carousel, the museum will be offering one child’s admission free for each adult admission bought on August 31 and September 1. This special offer is good only for the day of purchase and is not valid with any other offers.

Heritage Museums & Gardens is at 67 Grove Street in Sandwich.
