** It almost a requirement to be overly tattooed if you play in the NFL. It’s almost unnerving when you see a guy that doesn’t have arms that look like the side of a subway car. ** We all decided that we were old. Deion Sanders went into the Hall of Fame and we all saw him play, in college. The same goes for Emmitt Smith. <I>** I can’t take credit for it, but I shared my favorite tweet of the weekend, which came from someone I follow on Twitter. “Shannon Sharpe becomes the first non-English speaking member of the Hall of Fame.” That cracked me up.

I grew up in tenpin country, where it's nearly impossible to level the playing field for little kids. Not so with candlepin.

Our five-year-old daughter, restless with cabin fever over MLK weekend, project-managed a family outing to Leary Family Amusements on Sunday. She and her six-year-old brother came within a couple of points of each other; and all four of us had final scores within a 12-point range, from about 64 to 76. Bumpers all the way.
