Washashores? You mean the the Cape Cod Native Wannabes — known by us natives as “Warehams”?

The Elizabeth Islands? You mean Wareham Jr.?

Wrong. If Barnstable County is the defining factor, where does this leave the Elizabeth Islands. The geography of the Cape dates further back than the construction of the canal. Plymouth and Wareham are indeed part of the Cape. Even the Gatemen are part of the CCBL. Using the canal as a definition is not only in error, it implies an elitist attitude generally seen in washashores.

Sorry about the slow response, but I was busy reading an article about the person that was stabbed last night at the Quarterdeck Lounge at 247 Iyannough Road, Hyannis.

Mike, Falmouth, like other towns, do have their bad apples. I agree that it probably has the least amount of problems, and it IS the “strong arm of the cape”. Agreed.

New around here? Maybe. 2003. Melbourne, Florida is my hometown, another city plagued with common problems and issues.

I just think the terminology “putting Wareham in its place” is demeaning when Cape towns have their own issues.

You’re new around here, aren’t you? If I had a visible finger it would be pointing to the title of this here “blog,” specifically to the work “snark.” Did the “major export is Geena Davis” remark fail to adequately indicate that there was a strong tongue-cheek connection?

PS: Hyannis? I operate out of Falmouth — the beefy, muscular, manly tricep of Cape Cod, baby.

Putting Wareham in its place? I have no problem with you wanting to maintain the “elite” grouping of the Cape towns, but in the last five years, your Cape base town, Hyannis, has turned to a gang wannabe, drug infested, DUI mongering pit, along with Falmouth, Dennis and all parts of Yarmouth. Before you concern yourself with off-cape areas, you should become more proactive on fixing your side of the canal. Trust me, I live just over the bridge mainland side, and you have it no better than us.
