The tugboat parade was the idea of MMA president Rear Admiral Richard G. Gurnon, who served as chairman of the steering committee for the centennial celebration.
The show featured fireworks set off from two barges situated in Buzzards Bay near Massachusetts Maritime Academy, as well as pyrotechnics shot from atop Bourne’s railroad bridge.
The celebration activities were well attended by people from around the country and the world. On Tuesday the body of water that divides the villages of Bourne had a chance to define the Town of Bourne through the Canaliversary event.
Keith R. Nelson was arraigned July 28 in Falmouth District Court.
Members of the board of directors did confirm that they are considering an offer from the company’s recently fired chief executive Arthur T. Demoulas to buy the company.
