Beth Colt of Woods Hole will be the speaker at the Woods Hole Public Library’s annual meeting on Tuesday, July 8. A short business meeting will start at 8 PM for the election of board members. Ms. Colt’s talk will follow and she will focus on the business community of Woods Hole, past and present.
Ms. Colt’s ties to the village go back many years to her early childhood when her family boarded the boat at the dock in Woods Hole for annual family vacations on nearby Naushon Island. She and her husband, P.K. Simonds, spent 18 years in Los Angeles before they moved back to be with family and friends in New England.
Since then Ms. Colt has renovated the Woods Hole Inn and established the Quicks Hole Taqueria after buying the building in 2008. She has recently purchased the Leeside bar and restaurant and reopened it as Quicks Hole Tavern.
Ms. Colt now serves as chairman of the board of Falmouth Academy and is active in the Woods Hole Business Association. ,
