Aptucxet Garden Club's May Meetings

During the month of May the Aptucxet Garden Club will host both day and evening meetings and a plant and bake sale.

On Monday, May 12, at noon, the topic will be “Floral Designs Inspired by Fabulous Gardens.” Designer Thelma Shoneman will create a floral postcard for each garden visited. The meeting will be at the Bourne United Methodist Church, 37 Sandwich Road.

On Wednesday, May 14, at 6:30 PM, the subject will be “The Kentucky Derby,” and members are encouraged to wear a hat and listen to Bobbie Dwyer, one of the members, discuss the flowers, hats, horses and excitement associated with this legendary horse race. This meeting will be held at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library, 19 Sandwich  Road.

The public is invited to both events.

The garden club will host a plant and bake sale to be held at the Pocasset Community Center, Barlow’s Landing Road, on Saturday, May 17, from 9 AM to noon. Items for sale will include annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable plants, flower arranging items and baked goods.
