Bourne Library Has Programs For Job Seekers, Career Changers

The Jonathan Bourne Public Library will host three consecutive free Monday sessions focused on job searching and career changing. The sessions will be led by career consultant Darlene McCarthy, an independent consultant and career adviser.

On September 8 “Strategic Path To Employment” will look at preparing for a job search and the best places to look for work.

On September 15 “Career Change” will explore how to go about changing to a new career.

The final session on September 22 will cover how to apply for jobs online. Participants will begin writing their own résumés as well as begin to fill out potential job applications online.

Space is limited and registration is required for all three sessions. Comfort with using the computer for writing and Internet searches is strongly recommended.

All programs run from 10 AM until noon at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library, 19 Sandwich Road. Participants may register by calling the library at 508-759-0644 or by stopping by the circulation desk.

These programs are funded through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners with funds from the Library Services and Technology Act, a federal source of library funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
