Tickets are now on sale for “Penzance Point to Gunning Point: A Tour of Homes along the Bay” which will take place on Saturday, July 19, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Participants in the tour, which is a benefit for Highfield Hall & Gardens, will visit a series of homes in settings along the shores of Buzzards Bay, Quissett Harbor and Woods Hole.
The houses span over a century of construction, from an 1880 shingle-style home renovated to include a women’s tea house to a newly-constructed waterfront home overlooking Great Harbor. On the tour are a house with a salt water pool, a property that was the site of a Martha Stewart wedding, a house built around the view of Nobska Lighthouse and a 1940s boathouse.
Work by architects Mark Hutker and Michele Foster, builders C.H. Newton and Cataldo Custom Builders, landscape design by Horiuchi and Solien and landscapes by Soares Flower Garden Nursery are featured on the tour.
Tickets are limited; they are $75 each and are fully tax deductible. Tour-goers will be parking at a central lot and will be bused to the two tour locations. Walking will be required, especially on the Penzance Point portion of the tour. Refreshments from the Barking Claw and Fiddlestix Trolley will be for sale at the parking hub.
Tickets may be purchased at www.highfieldhall.org or 508-495-1878, extension 2.
