HopeHealth has a new program for children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or loved one. This one-day program on September 20 from 10 AM to 4 PM is designed to break the isolation children and teenagers feel after loss, introduce peers who can personally relate to their loss, provide professional therapeutic services, and teach healthy coping skills for managing grief in everyday life.
Hope Camp for Kids is designed for children ages 6 to 17 who have experienced a loss three months to two years prior to September 20, the date of the camp.
In addition to camp activities, campers will attend age-based support groups where they will be given the opportunity to talk about their experience and receive support and validation from children their own age. Hope Camp for Kids will be held at Camp Lyndon in Sandwich. This camp is being provided free of charge. To register for the camp, call 508-957-0248 or e-mail Emoraglia@HopeHealthCo.org.
