Spaulding Physician Offers Ways To Reduce Cardiovascular Risk

As part of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod’s Healthy Living Series, Dr. Alice Daley will present “Risky Business: 8 Ways to Lower Your Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke” on Thursday, May 22, at the hospital at 311 Service Road in East Sandwich. The free lecture will take place at 5 PM in the cafeteria.  Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.


Dr. Daley, who is an internist and hospitalist at Spaulding Cape Cod, will discuss primary prevention; that is, preventing a first cardiovascular event, as well as secondary prevention, meaning preventing a subsequent event after a first heart attack or stroke. She will address hypertension, dyslipidemia (an abnormal amount of cholesterol and/or fats in blood), overweight/waist circumference, type 2 diabetes, tobacco abuse, depression, and adequate sleep.
