Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra @ Barnstable Performing Arts Center

Pianist Jon Nakamatsu, winner of the Van Cliburn Competition in 1997, will perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, the same piece he played for that competition, for CCSO's first concert of the season, "Classics I - Playing with Fire." Gustav Holst's "The Planets Suite," oft used with science fiction, is also on the program. Two new movements - Pluto and Apollo - composed by Brett Abigana will debut. A pre-concert talk begins at 7 PM, with an artist's luncheon, Master Class, and Talk Back offered. Performances are 8 PM on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 & 22, with a 3 PM Sunday matinee.
