Oyster Shucking and Tasting @ Woods Hole Historical Museum

Enjoy the taste of local oysters and learn to shuck these delicacies at the Woods Hole Historical Museum’s second annual Oyster Shucking & Tasting Event, a fundraiser on Friday, August 30 from 5 to 7 PM.
Local oystermen Peter Chase and Eric Matzen of the Falmouth Shellfishermen’s Co-operative will give an update of their year of growing oysters in local waters. They will demonstrate the proper way of opening oysters, teaching participants how to shuck these local beauties.
After the talk and demonstration comes the oyster tasting. Wines and beer will be paired with the oysters for the attendees’ pleasure.
For attendees who are aficionados, special oyster knives will be available for sale at the event.
This is the museum’s major fundraiser of the season. Reservations are limited, so call ahead to the Museum 508-548-7270. Tickets, which are for sale at the museum, are $25 each.
