Shelby Allen Poetry Reading @ Woods Hole Public Library

Poet Shelby Allen will be reading from her work at the Woods Hole Public Library on Wednesday, August 8 at 7:30 PM. 
Ms. Allen’s poems have appeared regularly in numerous literary magazines and her essays have appeared in The New York Times and The Boston Globe.  
Awards for her poetry include the Living Poets Society Prize, Boston Herald poetry prize, and the Robert Grimes "Good Earth" award. She is on the steering committee of the National Writers Union and splits her time between Falmouth and Boston.
"I've found poetry to be life-changing, not just for me but for the prisoners I've taught in several Massachusetts prisons." Ms. Allen says.
Ms. Allen's most recent volume is titled "Crack Willow, Poems of Transformation."
