With new holiday décor and light displays Heritage Museums & Gardens, is excited to announce the annual holiday season event, Gardens Aglow. During this month-long event, Heritage transforms its gardens into a wonderland of lights, music, and holiday cheer. This family-friendly holiday tradition kicks off November 23rd and runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through December 23rd, from 5:00 to 9:00pm.
In 2012, be sure not to miss the giant carousel horse designed by local artist Michael Magyar, and the other new light displays throughout the gardens. Also for the first time ever during Gardens Aglow, Heritage’s Hidden Hollow area will be open and will feature dancing lights and holiday music.
Families can stroll through the gardens and pathways, decorated with thousands of dazzling lights, and new this year, giant metal, lighted snowflakes will be suspended from the trees throughout the grounds. These larger than life snowflakes were designed and built by Cape Cod Regional Technical High School students.
Visitors can enjoy nightly performances by local musical and dance groups, as well as visit with Santa Claus, as he holds court in his antique Model T. At the Café, families can roast marshmallows and sip hot chocolate around fire pits. Plus, kids and the kid at heart can take a spin on Heritage’s vintage carousel, to the tune of holiday music in our American Art & Carousel Gallery, or marvel at the Gingerbread House displays.
Tickets for Gardens Aglow are $7 for Heritage members, $4 for member children; and $10 for non-members, $5 for non-member children. Tickets are available for purchase at the main gate the day of the event. Discounted group rates are also available for parties of 20 or more. In addition, the Museum Store will be open for all your holiday shopping, including two new signature ornaments, gift cards, and annual memberships on sale. The Museum Store has special seasonal hours from 12-5pm Monday through Thursday and 12-9pm Friday through Sunday.
Gardens Aglow is sponsored by GenOn, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Eastern Bank, Cape Cod Five, Cape Cod Media Group and Cape Cod Fire Log.
