When: Sun Jan 13th
2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

The second in the museum’s weekly Music & More winter concert series, the program will consist mainly of the “Wind Sextets” of Haydn and Mozart, for pairs of oboes, horns, and bassoons. These charming Divertimenti pieces – little gems by the great masters – overflow with melodies and skillful use of the instruments. The musicians for this program are Laura Pardee-Schaefer and Laura Shamu (oboes), Robert Marlatt and Fred Aldrich (horns), and David Gallagher and Ken Fukuhara (bassoons).

The sextet’s performance will last about an hour, with refreshments to follow. Admission is $12 for museum members, $15 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and may be made calling (508) 385-4477, ext. 15. Those who attend the concerts my also view the exhibitions in the museum’s galleries before and after the program.

Founded in 1979, the Cape Cod Chamber Ensemble has been one of the Cape’s few resident groups composed of professional musicians. The group has performed widely in Southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Eastern New England to critical acclaim. Active year-round, the group offers repertoire from Renaissance to Modern in all types of performance settings. They have appeared on WFCC, WCRB, and WOMR Radio, as well as Channel 11 and American Cablevision. Its members have performed with virtually ever major musical organization in Eastern Massachusetts, and with nearly every major musical organization in eastern New England. Performing with the orchestra are members of the Boston Ballet, Pro Arte Orchestra, Cape Cod Symphony, Plymouth Philharmonic, and New Bedford Orchestras.
