Mr. Princi Wins Assembly Seat

Patrick M. Princi of West Barnstable defeated J. Gregory Milne of Hyannis for the Barnstable seat on the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates, according to election results released last night by Barnstable Town Clerk Linda Hutchenrider.

Mr. Princi received 11,002 votes, or 53.74 percent, while Mr. Milne received 9,373 votes, or 45.78 percent, according to the results.

"Mr. Milne said the results did not include absentee ballots, and declined comment on the outcome of the race until those ballots were counted." ...Milne does not want to comment on the outcome of the election because this is the 4th time that he has run for county-level public office, and it is the 4th time that the voters of this town have told him "no." Here is an additional bit of local political trivia, no member or former member of the Barnstable Town Council has ever successfully won higher political office. Mr. Milne, in addition to his other political deficiences, suffers from this "curse of the Barnstable Town Council."
