Spike: Missing Dog in Falmouth Heights Found

One day before a blizzard was expected to touch land a pet owner’s worst nightmare came true: her dog went missing.
“I went out with him last night to take him to the bathroom and turned around and he was gone,” Autumn May of Falmouth Heights, said this morning.
Her dog, Spike, a 5-year-old West Highland white terrier, had darted off, last seen near the intersection of Granite Avenue and Worcester Court. Shortly thereafter a missing ad was posted on Facebook and since then the photo had been shared 598 times with the hopes of finding him before the snow began to pile up.
And there were several who left comments in hopes Spike would be spared from winter’s fury. “Praying the angels keep you safe until your family can find you,” one woman wrote.
“ Noooo not tonight, Poor baby someone has to find him,” another wrote.
Turns out all Spike wanted was some alone time at the beach before the storm touched land today. “Someone found him on Falmouth Heights Beach and turned him into the [Falmouth animal] shelter,” a relieved Ms. May said. “I’m so grateful for all the community’s support and amazed at the power of the Internet.”

Great news. We sure are devoted to our animals.
