Falmouth police simulated a dangerous scenario at Falmouth High School yesterday afternoon, and went into the building with guns drawn searching for two unknown, armed male subjects.
Students were put on lock down at 1:30 afternoon, as part of the exercise.
Sergeant Douglas M. DeCosta, a member of the Special Response Team, Falmouth’s version of a SWAT team, said the team was informed that two armed suspects were in the building and responded with unloaded weapons.
The suspects were played by two male teachers, Sgt. DeCosta said, and given a plastic red gun and knife.
Uniformed officers located the men in a classroom, and called the Special Response Team to secure them.
“There was no ammunition. Everything was safe,” Sgt. DeCosta said.
Parents were to be notified by the Falmouth Public School’s phone system last night.
