Falmouth and county police acted on a federal warrant Friday morning, August 15, and arrested Eric M. Lawrence, 30, at his Sandwich Road home for past gun charges.
Local police received the warrant after nearly a year-long federal investigation.
A SWAT team with Barnstable, Mashpee and Falmouth police had raided Mr. Lawrence’s home in October and found two unlicensed guns including a semi-automatic 9mm caliber Smith & Wesson handgun and a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver. One of the weapons had been stolen.
Falmouth Police Department, with help from the Barnstable and Mashpee police, acted on the federal warrant at approximately 7 o’clock Friday morning. Falmouth Detective Christopher P. Bartolomei said that there were no incidents during the arrest.
Mr. Lawrence was transported to the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse where he will be indicted on federal charges.
Also seized in the October raid were five ounces of marijuana with an estimated street value of $2,500, more than $3,500 in other drugs including Percocet and other prescription pills, a crossbow, a surveillance system, and a pick-up truck. Police had information that led them to believe Mr. Lawrence was a supplier of heroin, cocaine, steroids, Molly, and marijuana.
