Pat Flynn Elected Chairman Of Falmouth Board Of Selectmen

In the first Monday evening meeting since the town elections, the board of selectmen welcomed two new members and selected its presiding officers.

Selectman Mary Pat Flynn was unanimously elected as chairman of the board for the fourth time and current vice chairman Douglas H. Jones was reelected 3-2 as vice chairman. The terms are for one year.

New selectman Samuel H. Patterson nominated Mr. Jones while the other newcomer, Susan Lynn Moran, nominated selectman Rebecca Moffit. Both Mr. Jones and Ms. Moffit voted for themselves with Ms. Flynn breaking the tie by voting for Mr. Jones.

The election was completed within five minutes and the new board moved on to the other agenda items.
