Suspect In Attempted Murder Surrenders To Mashpee Police

A suspect wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a 26-year-old woman in Mashpee has surrendered to police.

Mashpee Police Captain Scott W. Carline confirmed that Joshua Lafrange, 21, of Mashpee was accompanied by his attorney when he turned himself in at the police department this morning, April 11.


He is being arraigned today at Falmouth District Court. He is being charged with attempted murder, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a shod foot.

According to police, Mr. Lafrange, on or about April 1, allegedly beat and strangled the woman until she was unconscious.

Police were notified of the attack after the visibly injured woman went to Falmouth District Court seeking a restraining order.

The alleged incident took place on Tri-Town Circle, which is in the northwest section of town, bordering Falmouth, Sandwich, and Ashumet Pond.
