Deborah C. Michaelis of Sarasota, Florida, a former Falmouth resident, died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on March 23 after a seven-week battle with cancer. She was 56.
For 17 years she was the head dispatcher at the Falmouth Police Department, where she met and married police officer Richard Michaelis. Fifteen years ago the couple moved to Florida, where they both pursued careers in health care at the Palmer Ranch skilled nursing facility in Sarasota.
In addition to her husband she leaves her father, Robert Moore; her children, Jennifer McPhee, Michael Lord, Lindsay Allan-Michaelis and Courtney Michaelis of Falmouth; her sisters, Linda Moore, Donna Lawlor-Mello and Dianne Lawlor-Dagg of Falmouth; her brother, Michael Moore of Brooks, Georgia; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on June 7 at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.
