Ellen (Carlson) Nalchajian, 86, of Mashpee died on May 30.
She was the widow of Donald W. Nalchajian, who died in 2005.
Ms. Nalchajian was born in Winchester, where she graduated from Winchester High School. She and her husband lived in Reading from 1957 until their retirement to Cape Cod in 2003.
Ms. Nalchajian worked at the MITRE Corp. in Bedford and worked with hearing impaired children at Killiam Elementary School in Reading.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Reading, as well as the Reading Art Association.
Following her retirement to Mashpee, Ms. Nalchajian became a charter member of the Mashpee Congregational Church and was involved with its Church Prayer Shawl Ministry. She also took part in quilting and art at the Southport retirement community in Mashpee.
Ms. Nalchajian leaves her children, Susan N. Cornet and her husband, Richard Cornet, of Yarmouthport, and D. Stephen Nalchajian and his wife, Deborah Nalchajian, of Springfield, Virginia; and six grandchildren, Michael, Peter, Brian, and Jonathan Cornet, and Samantha and Justin Nalchajian.
A funeral service was celebrated on June 5 at Mashpee Congregational Church.
She is buried at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
