Gerald T. Hassey, 65, of Mashpee died on June 8.
He was married to Jane Anne (Russell) Hassey for 44 years.
Mr. Hassey grew up in Dedham and served in the US Army from 1968 to 1980. After his military service, he settled in Mashpee.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nam Vets, and the Monument Beach Sportsman’s Club. He also was a supporter of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Massey leaves three children, Gerald T. Hassey Jr., Richard Hassey, and Heather Donohoe and her husband, Lawrence Donohoe, all of Mashpee; three grandchildren, Kayla Hassey of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Tiffany Hassey and Trever Donohoe, both of Mashpee; one sister, Anne Gabrielli of Bridgewater; one brother, Warren Hassey of Bournedale; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Elizabeth (Bryan) Hassey; his sister, Patricia Tradd; and his brother, Richard Hassey.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 2 to 6 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Avenue, Mashpee.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, at 10 AM at Parish of Christ the King, 3 Job’s Fishing Road, Mashpee.
Burial will immediately follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
