Henry J. Graebener, 93, of East Sandwich died August 20 at McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich.
He was married to Elizabeth (Chaky) Graebener for 69 years.
Mr. Graebener was born in New York City, the son of John and Mary (Bohlinger) Graebener.
He served in the US Navy during World War II in the Solomon Islands, arriving on the escort aircraft carrier USS Siboney.
After his discharge from military service, Mr. Graebener was a New York City police officer for 20 years.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children, Henry Graebener Jr. and his wife, Barbara Graebener, of Virginia, Stephen T. Graebener of Quincy, and Elizabeth Wittenstein and her husband, Philip Wittenstein, of Harwich; his five grandchildren; and his brother, Bernard Graebener.
He was the brother of six late siblings.
Mr. Graebener's visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 27, from 4 to 7 PM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, August 28,at 10:30 AM in Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, East Sandwich.
Burial with military honors will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
