Mildred E. Spurling of East Sandwich, who leaves family in Mashpee, died August 3 at Royal of Cotuit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 93.
She was the wife of the late Hugh Spurling, to whom she was married for 56 years.
Born in Winthrop, Ms. Spurling was the daughter of John and Minnie (Tobiason) Jacobs. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1938.
Later, she worked as a service coordinator for RCA for 12 years.
She and her husband lived in Natick for many years before moving to Sandwich in 1990.
Ms. Spurling leaves her four sons, Daniel P. Spurling and his wife, Susan Spurling, of Mashpee, Robert M. Spurling and his wife, Karen Spurling, of Natick, Richard T. Spurling and his wife, Carol Spurling, of Madbury, New Hampshire, and Charles A. Spurling of Orlando, Florida. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was the sister of the late Helen Bukowsky and grandmother of the late Michael Spurling.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 7, at 11 AM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visiting hours at 11:30 AM.
Burial will follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery.
