Ronald M. Hayden, 67, of Sandwich died at Massachusetts General Hospital on July 12.
Mr. Hayden was born in Quincy to Matthew and Elsie Hayden. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1965 and began working in the computer programming department of Grossman’s in Braintree.
Later, he worked for a stock brokerage firm in Boston before settling on a career in various departments in the auto business.
He married Joceline Guenette of Medfield in 1976 and raised three children on Cape Cod and in Lantana, Florida. His marriage ended in divorce. In 2009, Mr. Hayden moved back to the Cape, where he lived in Hyannis and Sandwich.
Mr. Hayden was an accomplished fisherman and gourmet cook who also loved to golf, ski, race cars, hike, travel, and play the guitar. Music and cooking were two of his greatest passions. He also loved animals, especially dogs.
He leaves his three children, Michelle Tumas and her husband, Matt Tumas, of Lake Worth, Florida, Jill Carrion and her husband, Manny Carrion, of Franklin, North Carolina, and Daniel Hayden of Sandwich; and 11 grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Anita Hayden of Hyannis; and his brother, Kenneth Hayden of Lenox.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 16, from 4 to 7 PM at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road, Marstons Mills.
Burial will be private.
