Thank you, Sandwich 375 volunteers and sponsors.
Over the past three weeks, the Sandwich 375 Committee has hosted: BASH 1800s on July 19, SeaFest on July 26, Old-fashioned Clambake on July 26, Water Street Wing Fling on August 2-3, and Paintscaping 3D Light Show on August 2-4.
From the re-enactment of the commissioning of the Civil War Sandwich Guards, the vintage baseball game, kids on the deck of a pirate ship, watching master chefs compete, touching and making paper jellyfish, going up in a hot air balloon, shopping gifted crafters, listening to many different genres of music, free bounces on the variety of inflatables, to an awesome 3D light show— they were enjoyed from the countless e-mails, posts, tweets, phone calls and conversations we have received. We are thrilled that you enjoyed these special 375 celebratory events that for the most part were free!
It is rewarding as they were all volunteer events that took almost two years of planning, which without our volunteers and sponsors would not have come together. Through all the changes from venue to weather, their can-do spirit blossomed, and their willingness to help and help cheerfully really counted.
I would have to say the beaming (and mostly painted) faces of all the children in attendance at Wing Fling mirrored the success of these events.
The Sandwich 375 Committee board of directors is very grateful for our volunteers and sponsors. It is their time and commitment that have given the citizens of Sandwich and beyond, the opportunity to make memories while celebrating ours!
We will soon be listing the sponsors and volunteers who made this all happen on our website www.sandwich375.com. Please check it out and thank these wonderful volunteers and sponsors!
By the way, coming soon are the play “Our Town,” August 15 to 17; BASH 1900s on August 23 and the Grand Parade on September 13.
