Sandwich Woman Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance

A Sandwich woman faces assault and battery charges following a domestic disturbance incident.

Patrolman Daniel J. Perkins responded to a domestic disturbance in progress at 8:13 PM on Sunday, April 20, at Kiah’s Way in Sandwich. He arrived to hear a woman screaming that her daughter had attacked her and found Kasey M. Brown, 41, of Sandwich to be in a state of intoxication.

Witnesses claim they had arrived at the residence to pick up Ms. Brown's children and discovered that both parents were intoxicated. One witness claims that Ms. Brown attacked her and ripped out her hair. It was further determined that Ms. Brown had pushed her 4-year-old son into a cabinet.

Both Ms. Brown and her husband were taken into police custody and the state Department of Children and Families was contacted to determine who would take custody of the young boys, ages 4 and 5.

Ms. Brown has been charged with reckless endangerment of a child under 18, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (cabinet), and two counts of assault and battery. Police declined to name her husband, who has been summoned to court on a count of reckless endangerment of a child. Ms. Brown was released on bail.
