A recently completed engineering study of the pool inside Sandwich High School has revealed that the pool is in worse condition than the school administration had originally thought.
In a report from the engineering consultant, C.A. Crowley Engineering, Inc., has suggested two options. The first option has a lower up-front cost but is somewhat more costly to run. The second has a higher initial cost but is less costly to operate.
In view of the estimated cost, superintendent of schools C. Richard Canfield and school facilities director Alan Hall will request that the board of selectmen place a Proposition 2 1/2 capital exclusion article on the November 18 Special Town Meeting warrant and special election ballot to fund whatever option is chosen.
The issue will be discussed at Thursday’s selectmen’s meeting, which begins at 7 PM at Sandwich Town Hall. A representative from C.A. Crowley will be in attendance.
