Bourne Girls' Lacrosse Opens Tournament Play
By: DAN CROWLEY, May 28, 2014
The Bourne girls’ lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season on the road Monday, May 19, at Dartmouth. The Lady Canalmen ran into a tough offense, suffering a 24-9 loss to the Indians.
“We had a tough time stopping their powerful offense,” coach Jenna Burgess said. “They have a lot of different weapons and play the game of lacrosse very well. They do a really nice job of crashing the circle during the draws and we were not able to come up with the ball and have control off the draw. When we were able to get the ball off the draw we were able to run our offense and be successful. We need to work on our communication on defense and be more aggressive in all areas of the game. This will definitely give us some motivation for the postseason, we are going in focused and determined.”
Shelby Corsano led the scoring attack for BHS with four goals, followed by Tess McCabe with two. Ali Achstetter, Miranda Partosan and Sierra Powers each had one goal.
