Dominating Win For Sandwich Softball

Maddie Burrell pitched all six innings Monday afternoon in a 15-3 win over visiting Nauset.

Sandwich scored twice in the second inning and then broke the game open in the bottom of the third with six more runs. Julianna Ferguson smashed a solo home run into left field in the four-run, fourth inning. The Knights closed out the afternoon with four more runs in the bottom of the sixth.

While Burrell cruised from the pitching circle, striking out a dozen, while holding the Warriors to just four hits. Kat Garbacik led the scoring for the Knights, crossing the plate three times. Ferguson finished two-for-three and added a two-run double.

Plymouth North dealt the Knights a 9-2 loss on Friday, April 25.

Kylie Condosta led off the top of the first with a base hit and Ferguson followed with a triple. Garbacik brought Ferguson in to score to give SHS a quick 2-0 lead. The Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the inning, added two more runs in the third and three in the fourth.

Ferguson finished the day four-for-four with three doubles and a triple.

Sandwich (2-3, 2-2 ACL) travels to Plymouth South today for a 4 PM game with the Panthers.
