Ice Velvets Take Second Place At ISI Recreational Championship

Ice Velvets, an adult synchronized skating team, competed last week at the Ice Skating Institute Recreational World Championships last week at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro. The team competed in two events: an adult production number where they placed fifth, and a synchronized number where they placed second. The Ice Velvets competed against younger teams, skating to a cowboy theme that culminated with the “William Tell Overture” in their second place routine.

Members of the team hail from mostly the Upper Cape, but also as far as Dennis, Plymouth and Rhode Island. They skate as part of team, “Cape Cod Ice,” at Gallo Ice Arena and are coached by Roger Collard.
