A 3-0 victory over Falmouth capped the regular season for the Bourne volleyball team last night. The Lady Canalmen (16-4) are seeded fifth in the Division 2 South Sectional and will host 12th seeded Cardinal Spellman (11-11) Sunday at 5 PM in the preliminary round.

Bourne defeated the Clippers by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-13. In the opening game, two kills by Madi Durr sparked a BHS run. Miranda Partosan and Colleen Brady also delivered kills and Karlie Ciampa made a great defensive save to maintain Durr’s service run. A block by Chelsea Doucette and a kill closed out game one. Samantha Fasoli served up a couple of aces and Amanda Pomeroy found the open floor as Bourne jumped out to a 10-point lead in the second game. Brady served the final seven points from the line, including two aces, and Shelby Corsano and Partosan slammed home kills for the win.

Bourne took an early lead in the final game and cruised to the win behind a strong performance at the service line by Doucette, who had eight of her 14 service points in the third game. Durr finished off the Clippers with three points from the service line with the help of a great save by Corsano to keep the volley alive. The four BHS seniors playing their final regular season home game, Durr, Ciampa, Fasoli and Sara Morley, were all solid on defense. Brady ended the night with 11 service points; Durr had seven, along with 11 digs; Fasoli had 10 digs; Ciampa had five and Morley finished with two.
