The Atlantic Coast League Lady Knights tuned up for the tournament on Friday with a 6-1 victory over visiting Marshfield in their final home game of the regular season that not only celebrated the six seniors on the team but raised money for Breast Cancer Awareness and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The team raised in excess of $1,000 for the cause. Sandwich (16-2) is seeded third and will begin MIAA Division 1 South Sectional play today when they host Dighton-Rehoboth at 2:30 PM. The Falcons, members of the South Coast Conference, are seeded 14th with a regular season record of 6-4-6

Sandwich opened the scoring on Friday off a corner shot by Nicole Martin that Erin Gendreau blasted home. Katie Payne then added a second tally for the Lady Knights, giving them a 2-0 lead at the break. Martin then went back-to-back in the second half with two goals, assisted by Madeline Klimm. Payne then served the ball up for Gendreau and the senior captain blasted home the fifth goal of the afternoon for the Knights. Ally Hir rounded out the scoring for SHS, assisted by Amy Ford.
